Waiomu Bay 1960s retro seaside motel
Thames Coast, Coromandel Peninsula

Seaspray Motel is a small retro 1960s vintage motel right on the seaside.

All units are absolute waterfront with uninterrupted sea views.

Fish from the lawn! Or maybe see dolphins and orca pass by from your comfortable cape cod chair.

Disconnect and travel back to a simpler time of the Kiwiana motel with spectacular sunsets and moonsets. Our aim is to be laid back and relaxing rather than uptight and upmarket. We are pet friendly (pets by prior request).

The Seaspray Motel sits absolute seaside at Waiomu Bay a beautiful 14 kilometre coastal drive north from historic Thames. And yes, it's true, you can fish straight from the lawn.

Just down the road, opposite the beach reserve, is a cafe and a fishing shop - side by side - keeping all members of the family happy.

The Waiomu Coast to Kauri walk is here too. It's a gentle bush walk that takes about 2 hours return.

Within a 5 minute drive you will find a couple of general stores that do fish and chips and takeaways (one also has fuel pumps) and a pub. There are several excellent local fishing charters. Historic Coromandel town is a spectacular scenic 45 minute drive from here.

In little over an hour you can drive through the Tapu Coroglen Road (making sure you stop at the Rapaura Gardens and cafe) to the eastern side of the Coromandel Peninsula.

We're an awesome little motel to base yourself while you explore the Coromandel by day and then relax to watch the sun setting from your deck by evening.

You will always find your hosts, Katherine and John happy to help with anything you need if you require assistance or advice.
